Alligator Communications is a radio manufacturer dedicated solely to the production of Multiple Address System (MAS) radios, certified by the FCC for use in Private Operations - Fixed Microwave Systems. These commonly include Electric, Gas, and Water Utilities; Petroleum Production; Pipeline Operation; Railroad Signals and Controls; and a large number of lesser-known industries. Alligator Communications' founders, with more than forty years combined experience in the manufacturing and marketing of 900 MHz radio equipment, incorporated the company in 1991. From its inception Alligator management insisted on a design that was highly innovative and extremely responsive to user requirements. This
forward-looking attitude of Alligator's management team has served the
industry well. Although significant technical capabilities have been
added to the products in response to customer suggestions, the original
basic design remains the keystone of Alligator's product line. Another
compliment to Alligator's design ability is that most of Alligator's
innovative improvements are later incorporated into competitors
products. Several years ago, Alligator was the first to offer frequency agile master and remote radios with over-the-air adjustments. This allows for complete remote diagnostics and control in our multiple address radio networks. By simply loading Alligator's diagnostic software onto any PC computer and connecting the computer to a master station (by a direct connection, phone line, or microwave link), every Alligator remote radio becomes accessible for monitoring and adjusting via the radio's RF path. An onboard microprocessor installed in every radio virtually eliminates the task of setting jumpers, dipswitches, and trimpots. With their latest innovation, Alligator takes MAS operating and maintenance technology to the limit with the patented design of "GatorTrac." This features a common time base in the master/repeater radio to synchronize and align all its internal modules as well as the associated remote radios equipped with AGFC which constantly calibrate their frequency using the master radio as a reference. This allows the transmit signal from the master/repeater and the receive bandpass filter envelope of all the remote radios to be in perfect alignment and unaffected by individual frequency drift. As a result, the system Bit Error Rate (BER) is always maintained at an optimum level. |
